Fantastic experience: I was only in Adelaide for a couple of days and had real issues with pain in my glutes and hamstrings. As we were travelling around Australia for seven weeks it was a real problem. I managed to get Dev’s last appointment on the day I was leaving and he was wonderful! He asked what I wanted to achieve as it was a one off appointment which was basically to reduce the pain and know what to do to start to recover. He listened to the issues, examined me, then did some manipulation and dry needling. He gave me exercises to do and sent me a letter to pass on to the next physio I saw (said I needed to see someone every week). He also said other physios could contact him if they had any questions. What a service! I couldn’t ask for any more and really appreciated Dev’s concern and care in the short time I saw him. Thank you Dev!

Fantastic experience: Suffering a serious and debilitating back injury is no fun, and how and when a recovery might be won generates obvious anxiety. My lower back problem had been interfering with my golf swing over several months and to such an extent my handicap was blowing out. Then, during a qualifying round a few weeks back, my back gave out altogether putting out on the 5th hole - pretty embarrassing and meant that my partner and I missed the cut. Spent the Sunday in agony and worried about whether I would work at all that week - I’d lost hope of playing golf anytime soon. That same Sunday, I found Therapia Sports & Spine on Google - its website was impressive and they appeared to know what they were talking about. It also helped that their practice is within walking distance of my workplace. So, I logged on and booked an appointment for the following morning. That was the Monday after a dislocated lumbar disc had left me bed-bound, hobbling and in serious pain. The 1st session was precisely what I’d hoped for: clear and rational advice directed at fixing the problem - in a permanent fashion - not just masking over what caused the problem itself. Had a further session that Wednesday and by the Friday the debilitating pain was gone - in less than a week I was fully mobile, started to entertain hope of permanent improvement and getting back on the golf course sooner, rather than later. What the therapists do, and do really well, is to engage the client with the interrelated causes of the problem and have the client take control - principally by providing a range of stretching and strengthening exercises that are evidently being tailored to the issue at hand. I think of it as a partnership, aimed at solving the problem and preventing it re-emerging in future. It’s early days, but I have real confidence that, with their help, I will be able to improve the stability, mobility and flexibility of my back such that it will never trouble me again. Originally saw Mukul for physio and dry needling on my osteoarthritic, inflamed knees and after a few sessions subsequently moved over to their supervised reformer pilates classes. Around 9 months now of attending pilates once or twice a week under the extremely careful guidance of Mukul, Stef, and Dev, the difference is unbelievable. While there will always be some restriction thanks to the arthritis, my mobility is off the charts from where it was and I can do everything from crawling and kneeling, to sports, to even just walking down stairs with confidence and zero pain. Mukul and Arjun have used manipulation, dry needling and massage techniques and I have had a home program of exercises to do in between sessions. He is not only highly qualified, but also highly skilled, and has the ability to adapt his skills to suit the individual needs of his clients.
