Negative experience: I've been a physiotherapist for 15 years in British Columbia, New Zealand and Australia. I graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Queen's University. My clientele is primarily occupational injuries injuries motor vehicle accidents. Indisputably, there are never a shortage of these insurance claims. Unfortunately, Refine Physiotherapy does not prudently manage occupational injuries. Some therapists assign clients to exercise rehabilitation too quickly or inappropriately, thwarting the client's injury recovery. Some clients even have regressed in their recovery because of being incorrectly assigned to exercise rehabilitation versus hands-on physiotherapy. Moreover, the therapists have minimal knowledge of vestibular rehabilitation and concussion management. These services are often necessary for adequate recovery from motor vehicle accidents and some occupational injuries. Finally, they do offer Pilates classes, except they are not instructed by a physiotherapist. So, they're not clinical Pilates class and thus, facilitate injury rehabilitation. I have taught Clinical Pilates classes for eleven years. So, I understand the importance tailoring exercise programs in accordance with people's goals, biomechanics, occupational needs, injury history and medical history. The "fitness instructors" at Refine don't take account for these variables because they significantly lack the education. There are a plethora of physiotherapy practices in Brisbane, chose wisely.

Fantastic experience: Dr Li's at Refine Physiotherapy at Bowen Hills is our wonderful physiotherapist, he is just amazing, I cannot say how much I appreciated his skilled techniques in terms of treatment, I had shoulder pain for over three months, had all sorts of treatments such as massage, acupuncture, it did not work that much. After seeing Dr Li, he worked few times on the areas which caused pain and it has been improved dramatically, he even used the dry needles which are just unbelievable. He is not only a wonderful physiotherapist but also a wonderful person. Fantastic experience: Damien is a master of his craft. Massaging, active release work, and dry needling along with demonstrating a number of techniques and exercises for me to perform independently have already paid dividends in rehabilitating my rotator cuff injury. Damien also does a great job of managing his patients' expectations and recovery time, emphasizing the importance of consistency and continued rehab away from his office.

After just one month of seeing Damien I was able to completely alleviate the pain in my left knee and get back into running. Fantastic experience: Damien is the king! Fixed my long term shoulder and knee pain by giving me straightforward exercises I easily added into the end of my workouts. He took the time to look through my workout program and recovery routine and gave me much welcomed advice. I also book in whenever I feel joint pain from my lifting or sports and it's quickly dealt with through his excellent manual therapy and dry needling.
