Fantastic experience: Saw Matt Mayo while on holiday in Forster for a badly stiff neck and limited movement. He was exceptional. Highly knowledgeable and provided immediate relief, which meant I could enjoy the rest of the holiday. Only downside is he’s 6 hours away, otherwise I’d be a regular!

Fantastic experience: I first met Mat Smith about 10 years ago after I sustained a serious L5 S1 disc injury and was at a very low point physically and mentally. Having worked in healthcare for many years, I have met practitioners across the full spectrum. In my view there are good clinicians, excellent clinicians, and then there are the rare individuals who operate at a level of true brilliance. Mat sits firmly in that category. From the moment you walk into the room, you have his full attention. His professionalism, therapeutic communication and genuine care are exceptional. He listens carefully, explains things in a way that makes sense, and approaches treatment in a truly holistic way. You never feel like just another appointment in the schedule. You feel heard, understood and supported. Every exercise program he created for me was carefully tailored and handwritten, not a generic printout. He explains the purpose behind each exercise and guides you in a way that makes recovery feel achievable while still encouraging you to aim higher than you thought possible. You might walk in feeling defeated by injury, but you leave feeling optimistic, motivated and looking forward to the next step in recovery. What also stood out was his humanity. At one point he even called me on his day off when I was struggling personally. That level of care and compassion is incredibly rare. I have never since met another practitioner of his calibre. Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Mathew Smith for very painful osteoarthritis in my lower back. I tried another professional without any real improvement, but as soon as I started seeing Mathew I immediately began to feel the results. Mathew is totally hands on and hasn’t used typical physiotherapy machines such as ultrasound or tens machine. He takes a real interest in your welfare and strives to alleviate your symptoms. Fantastic experience: I recently engaged Mathew Smith service. I had had my left leg collapse on me twice within about 6 weeks. I needed to know the cause and what to do about it. I got his name from local paper, I looked him up on Google and noted his qualifications. He has a pleasant professional manner, he checked leg out thoroughly testing ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves, keeping me informed of what he was testing and his assessment. He finally tested the sciatic nerve in the leg and it 'failed' the test. He explained what was wrong and gave me some exercises to do to improve the function of the nerve, I was relieved. Made an appointment to see him in 3 weeks in which I did the prescribed exercises every morning and on return visit the leg 'passed' the test with flying colours. I have now engage him to work on a problem I've had for years, he's made no promises but I happy to give it a go. So I am happy to recommend Mathew's service, he knows his stuff.

Fantastic experience: Matthew gave me pain relief after my 1st treatment . I had a TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT done 6 months prior & I have been suffering with debilitating pain during this period. I had been having rehabilitation either both physio & heated pool for 5 months with little relief. I now feel I am going to be able to get back to my normal life after 2 treatments with Matthew . I recommend Matthew for any physiotherapy treatment you might require , especially if you have not had satisfactory results from previous treatments. Matthew is very knowledgeable in treating my knee, keeps me informed during treatment of what he is doing , gives good recommendations in exercises to do at home to improve my rehabilitation. Matthew is a 5⭐️ physio to me, I cannot recommend him highly enough. His fee is slightly higher but after paying out for 6 months of rehab with little gain he is well worth it

I've struggled with a complex chronic pain and stiffness condition for the last 2.5 years, having spent a considerable amount of time and money on other health practitioners over that time trying to understand the cause so I could fix it, without any success. Mathew pretty much worked it out at my first appointment. It is the first time on this journey that I have felt truly heard and respected by a health practitioner, and the first time someone has put in the time and effort I've needed to be able to understand my condition. I feel like Mathew genuinely cares about helping me, and this is clear from the time and thought he has committed to my treatment plan, outside paid clinic hours, to make sure I'm getting the most out of the service he is providing. Mathew is friendly and welcoming, but professional and highly competent. It is clear that he is very experienced and a true specialist physiotherapist.

Fantastic experience: I was diagnosed with Arthritis. Both Rheumatoid & Osteoarthritis, The pain because of the degeneration in my spine was excruciating. Mathew was the one person who after giving me a very thorough examination of my spine suggested that I go for several x rays & MRIs. Finding the cause of pain & helping me with Physio & an exercise routine has made my life so much more bearable & less dependant on medication. I have Mathew to thank for being able to get through most of my week without having to go & lie down for hours just to be able to get up & continue on with daily chores etc. If anyone has severe pain & is dependant on medication ? Do this for your own sake & seek Mathew out ! Because if anyone can help you to come to some form of resolution he will be able to help & advise. Fantastic experience: I have had neck pain for a number of months and ended up seeing Mathew Smith as a friend had recommended. Mat was so knowledgeable and immediately set me at ease, as it became clear very quickly that he really knew what he was doing. I had immediate relief from the treatment as Mat had a firm but gentle technique and he was very thorough in his questioning of my history, both immediate and longer term (previous whip lash). I was surprised at the effectiveness of the strapping he situated on my shoulder to relieve pressure on my neck... was bliss. I saw Mat twice and he sent me away with some great links to an exercise regime (some of which he'd practised with me during the consult), where I could watch short videos of correct techniques. I highly recommend Mat and can definitely say that I've had ongoing relief since seeing him.
